As The Crown stepped off the pitch for the final time against New York City FC, the sting of a first‑round MLS Cup exit and the quiet pride of a campaign that made history lingered in the air.

Soon enough, that moment simply became a memory.

That mix of heartbreak and hunger remained through the offseason, fueling every moment of preparation for Season 5.

And Season 5 has been another chance to prove it, not only to themselves but to the league that...

CHARLOTTE FC IS HERE.

In preseason, there was optimism around the team, considering the majority of the squad from the past season were returning. The lights were bright, and they were ready to seize the opportunity in their own fashion.

FIRST MATCH ENERGY

With the energy built up, The Crown headed to St. Louis for their first match.

In a back and forth matchup, they left with a 1-1 result.

Pep Biel, a name that has consistently been a part of Charlotte FC's success, scored his first goal of the season in the opener.

HOME OPENER

With the excitement of The Crown returning home, they did not disappoint the thousands of fans waiting for them.

And with the debut of the Crowns Up: Carolina Kit, the party was ready to start.

In a decisive 3-1 win over Austin FC, The Crown reemphasized its status as a force to be reckoned with at home.

And with two goals from the Spanish Magician, Pep Biel, The Crown was ready to take off.

A night with many highlights also saw homegrown talent Aron John make his first-team debut.

HISTORIC HEIGHTS

Coming off a disappointing draw against Inter Miami CF, the squad looked to create noise and earn 3 points in its next matchup.

And in spectacular fashion, a night full of goals came raining down.

6 GOALS. 5 DIFFERENT PLAYERS. 1 HISTORIC NIGHT.

THE BRICK WALL PREVAILS

In a special rematch of the first round of the 2025 MLS Playoffs, Kristijan Kahlina made sure to leave his mark.

The Crown captured a crucial 2-1 win, and his masterclass performance, with sevens saves, was a sight to see.

With two impressive goals from Idan Toklomati and Kerwin Vargas, the match was shifted by the energy from the 2024 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year.

So much so, he was named to the MLS Team of the Matchday for Matchweek 8.

MATCH MAYhem

To finish the first half of the season, The Crown hosted 4 home matches, which meant...

ENDLESS ACTION ALL MAY.

As two unfortunate results began the start of MAYhem, The Crown saw a chance to capitalize on the final two matches before the World Cup break.

As they played Toronto FC, the spark came back to the squad.

WITH GOALS LIKE THIS...

The Crown took the 3-1 victory before heading into their final matchup of the first half of the season.

Newcomer Morrison also earned his first Team of the Matchday with a stellar performance.

MAYhem FINALE

In the last match before the international break, The Crown faced off against New England Revolution in a gritty Eastern Conference matchup.

With early action from Idan Toklomati...

The Crown secured a 1-0 win and put themselves in position to make a push after the break.

WHAT’S NEXT?

As The Crown resumes league play on July 22 at 8:15 p.m. against Atlanta United, the squad is ready for the second-half push. Currently, they sit 6th in the Eastern Conference with plenty of time to push for a top-4 seed, similar to last season.
